Project: White Balance and Exposure Bracketing

In this project you will explore white balance and exposure.

I would like to see three sequences of white balance bracketing and three sequences of exposure bracketing. In the end you should have a total of 18 images.

What does a white balance bracketing sequence look like?
Take a photograph with the white balance set to Day Light.  Take the exact photograph with the white balance set to Tungsten or Indoor.  Then take the exact photograph one last time with the white balance set to Shade or Fluorescent. It does not matter what white balance setting you use or in what order but vary the white balance in each of the three shots.
Repeat this twice more in a different location under different lighting conditions.

What does an exposure bracketing sequence look like?
Take a photograph. Next take the same photograph with the cameras exposure composition set to -1 or -2.  This is done differently on different cameras.  The button on you camera might read EV or +/-.  Finally take the same photograph with the cameras exposure composition set to +1 or +2 
Repeat this twice more in a different location under different lighting conditions.

Vary your images between sequences.  I recommend shooting a subject in front of a bright window for one of the exposure bracketing sequences.

In class we will use Adobe Bridge to organize our images and print them out. Don't worry about this for now. Just shoot the necessary images and remember to bring in your camera with a charged battery and the cable needed to connect the camera to the computer. If you don't have a camera with the necessary capabilities to accomplish this project you will need to borrow one from a friend or check one out from the school.
