Procedures
Class time will include lecture and demonstrations, and will provide time to work. Your use of the entire period is an important aspect for your participation grade. Reading assignments will be given to provide the basis for in-class work. Handouts will be given outlining daily discussions, exercises and additional techniques.

Academic misconduct
Any student found guilty of academic misconduct shall be subject to disciplinary action. Academic misconduct includes, but is not limited to, the following actions:

  1. Cheating or knowingly assisting another student in committing an act of cheating or other forms of academic dishonesty.

  3. Unauthorized possession of examinations, reserve library materials, laboratory materials, or other course-related materials.
  4. Unauthorized changing of grades on an examination, in an instructor’s grade book, or on a grade report; or unauthorized access to academic computer records.
  5. Nondisclosure or misrepresentation in filling out applications or other DACC/NMSU records in, or for, academic departments or colleges.

Notes

  • Auditing: A student may choose to audit a course. However, that student will be expected to fully participate in the course including lectures, assignments, and projects. If you do not plan on being a fully active member of the course, please discuss with your instructor dropping the course.

  • CMT Media Statement: Because of our exceptional students, we may collect work for display, marketing, and archiving for DACC and the CMT program. If you do not wish to have your work shown in a public venue, please be sure to submit your request in writing to your instructor.
  • Computers, e-mail, and the Internet: Students use of computers, e-mail, and the Internet may only be used for assignments related to class instruction. If you must check your messages do it during the regular break only.
  • Grades: If you should not agree with your final grade, you have the right to appeal it using the process found in the 2008-2009 DACC Student Handbook.
  • This syllabus is subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to students.

All cellular phones, pagers and beepers are to be turned Off or switched to silent of vibrate mode while in the classroom at all times. Electronic entertainment devices must be turned off and head phones removed during class. During examinations cellular phones MUST BE TURNED OFF. Any use of a cell phone during examinations will result in a zero for that exam. The instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student who violates this policy; a dismissal will be recorded as an absence. There are no exceptions to these rule. If you must take and make calls; this is to be done during the regular break outside the classroom.

Student's use of computers, e-mail, and the Internet may only be used for assignments related to class instruction. If you must check your messages do it during the regular break only.
